The energy costs of a refrigeration plant could be reduced by around 40 per cent, possibly more, through adoption of the most energy efficient equipment and techniques. Coldway has incorporated a number of strategies to take advantage of this new field. Whilst some require capital outlays, our research and experience has shown the payback period is often relatively short. With rising energy costs and growing environmental awareness, there is a growing need to reduce power consumption in the refrigeration sector.
Our knowledge and experience in energy saving technologies makes available the ability to increase energy efficiency of a refrigeration plant. Examples of these technologies are:
- Refrigeration specific technologies
- Variable plant pressure control
- Automated compressor staging and capacity control
- Remote control optimisation of refrigeration plant
- Heat recovery from discharge gas and oil cooling
- Defrost management
- Variable cold store temperatures
- Variable evaporator fan speeds
- Condensate sub-cooling0
- Refrigeration plant design review0
- Plant condition maintenance – removal of air and water
